I have been a very wicked boy.
I had finished my prep and was getting bored and as I looked around the room I saw someone playing chess against the computer. So I asked how I could do so. He showed me and so for the next few minutes I was playing chess. Until… He came
The assistant housemaster had walked in and caught me playing chess. and so he asked ‘Why are you playing chess Oliver?’ in his well Scottish accent.
I responded with that I had completed my prep and had nothing to do. then he asked ‘do you think that playing chess is appropriate during prep time?’ and obviously the answer was most certainly no so that is how I responded. ‘no’ I said which he then ( like a good teacher ) says.
‘I want an essay about the Importance of prep handed into me. by the end of tonight’
huh what a great idea. just like the good old days.
and so I have written this essay and it goes like :
Prep is important as it is there to prepare us for the next lesson. If we are not given any prep we should be actively looking for more to do so that we can achieve the above expectations.
It is important as we are just getting to grips to the school as we are in year nine and need to practice getting into a routine for preparation of Exams in further up years.
The Importance of prep is so Large that we should not be wasting our time with games and videos that have nothing to do with what we are meant to be learning or Revising.
I am sorry for my heinous acts of playing chess in preparation time where I should be working towards getting above expectations in my work and revision as I have already completed my main task at hand.
I say that I am 100% sure one of the most important times of the school day is prep as it prepares us for the next until the weekend.
The ending was a little different before and looked more like:
‘I am sorry if This essay sounds like I am taking the Mickey out of Prep time to which I say that It is 100% one of the most important times of the school day as it prepares for our future.’
so I am so happy with our new assistant housemaster.
in other news, I have been writing part of the book I mentioned. which has a Lord of the flies feel to it. although I am unsure if it is any good. the book is called 800 days. which is a really really long time.
There is a new boy in our house he is nice and quite a jokey fellow and is really good when you get to know him.
I am still working on getting in a relationship although cannot say too much as some of the Duffus boy’s parents are reading this.
This is Oliver signing out
just as I wrote that line the assistant housemaster walked in. so I had to press mute on my computer as quick as I could and click on the document.
He thought that the language was a bit strong but good otherwise. and he walked away.
what a waste
This is Oliver signing out for now.

That was obviously a very wicked thing to be doing, Oliver – except that playing chess is one of the best ways of developing your brain in all sorts of ways. I’m not recommending you do it in prep time again, but it’s a better than being found playing other sorts of video games. Just don’t tell anybody I said so – especially not the Assistant Housemaster!
