Damn. What A life I am living. I am so grateful that I am here going to this Adventure of a school while also being able to tell you about it. Making the world just that bit better. You can experience this adventure with me. it is a live story being written as it is happening.

As you can read from the title I went on an expedition Which included camping, cliff jumping, abseiling, and Hiking. This is how it went.

a normal day but after lessons instead of games (as in like outdoor sports like rugb- oh yeah I left… but badminton is also a physically demanding activity. ) went to go and get changed into expedition kit. which I will sleep in, walk-in, eat-in, and live in. this will be my everything. with a spare set in my bag ready for the event of me jumping in a lake and getting the original wet. after this activity, I could chill out until it was time to leave. (during that time was the time the blog was written).

We left. Phone less, Computer less, That lack of tech made some go insane.

Arriving in the dark after a 2-hour bus journey we were put in pears with other year groups (this was a house expedition and only my year, year nine and year ten were there) I was with this silly and big fellah. He may have been big but we fit in our tent perfectly with our own space and everything. We put up our tent together like pros. and from then on the tent really was a new home for me.

After everyone’s tents were set up We went for a night walk which was really nice. we got to the walk’s peak and turned off our torches. Readers I could not tell you the beauty of the stars in the clear Scottish night sky.  The moment I got back to my tent I instantly slipped into my sleeping bag and was out cold.

The morning was good. We had breakfast which concluded packaged cereal and a croissant with Nutella. This to me does not seem like an expedition but more of a luxurious camping trip. I feel like it could be more extream which I what I expect in an expedition. but this must be the luxuries of year nine.

after that breakfast, we went out (by bus!) to a cliff where we would go abseiling. where The cliff was around less the size of a climbing wall. after the first person went down they just arrived next to me. I asked ‘how!?!?’

Readers I was so disappointed with the fact that you can walk from the bottom of the cliff edge to the top by going around. this exped was good but felt a bit off. when my world turned upside down. after we went to the camp for a toilet break. then went on a bus ride towards a waterfall. we were given a piece of paper to sign. Then we were given a wet suit. Oh yeah, It was that time. this was the Extreme.

After getting changed we hiked to the top of this waterfall that was in little waterfall sections where some you need to jump down and slide down. OH BOY!

First, at the top, there was a huge marshland. It was where I lost both my legs to the mud. that would not matter as we needed to get used to the cold water at the top. after getting pulled out by an instructor I hopped into the water.

COLD.

Then Slid down to the next section where I was going to need to jump into the next section. (by sliding on the rocks, we had a life jacket to protect our backs.)  then climbing down there was a choice to go on a larger slide or the smaller one. I decided to go to the smaller one because I was getting tired and cold. we then swam across to a section where I could climb up a small bit and jump down. It was scary, to be honest, but I did it. I reminded me of scenes where people would fall into water from broken ice. I made that motion when I hit the water. After swimming up I then needed to jump down into the final section. where we needed to zipline off. there was the choice to stop halfway and let go. I was too cold and wanted to get out quickly.

We got back and it was getting dark. after being fed I went back to my sleeping bag, shattered. my tent mate and I fit in our tent fine we have our own sections. unlike the last expedition where I was with three people in a smaller tent. That was a quick way to get a snotty ill bug around.

The following morning was time to go. After a quick breakfast and tent packing, we went on our way. back home.  for a nice Sunday evening.

To wake up on Monday as if it never happened.

But before any of that happened. before everything. before my previous blog (which I should have mentioned then) we went to town and the cinema.

In town, we were dropped off on our own. we were on our own! Aysgarth would never even DREAM OF DOING THIS!!! just us kids alone! HOW?!?!?! SUPERHERO SCHOOL!!!

I pared up with two other people because I did not want to be dragged around by such a big group.

my group was a great bunch. I was with my man who I am going to call teddy bear and a girl who was very quiet. and Is quiet during the school days. so I am going to call her Mrs Quiet. we wandered around town and ate some Mcdonalds then arrived back at the bus and went to the cinema. but when we got there the movie we picked was not on for a while. We decided to eat some more as that was going to have to be dinner.  it was a pizza. pineapple pizza. that my partners picked. I had to bring down the pizza and hope for the best.

we then watched our film Ad Astra which was about a man who lost his dad to a space project and was thought to be dead. when he is told they think he is not he goes out to find him on an action-packed adventure.

I should say the film is depressing. I would not watch it to make my self feel better with the world.

It is now time for me to go. This is Oliver Signing out.
