It is very late and I have been too busy to write, so there won’t be very much diary at all tonight.
Mostly I have been busy working, which is a surprising turn up for the books, it has been a very quiet weekend and we have been worrying a bit about how few passengers there have been, but tonight has been much busier.
Apart from that I have been busy writing complaints to other local authorities about their misbehaving Uber drivers. One of the other drivers has been going around taking photographs of them doing wicked things, and I have been filling in complaint forms and dispatching them.
We will jolly well stop them one way or another.
These activities have occupied my entire night at work, a very Happy Easter to me.
Happy Easter to you as well. In fact we have not celebrated it at all. I am too fat to eat chocolate, and all of my children are engaged in various fitness activities and therefore also unlikely to be eating chocolate either. I am sorry about this. Easter ought to be a merry chocolate eating time. Chocolate is wonderful, and the only one who has eaten any this Easter is Rosie, who gets some occasionally, when she begs winsomely enough.
I just wanted to show you, before I sign off, our very wonderful, wonderful finished bed head, completed, to our immense satisfaction, just before we set out to work this evening
It is below.
It is not quite perfect, as you can see, but it is jolly well not bad for a first bed-heading attempt, especially one with only an chap on YouTube to show us how it is done, and we are very proud of it indeed.
The next one will be better. The next one will be a new sofa, and we know what we are doing now, so it will be even more like a real one.
We rushed through all of our real jobs this morning so that we would get time to do it, and then spent the last few hours determinedly stapling and folding until it was done, after which we took it upstairs, put it on the bed and leaned against it.
It is not just the last word in luxury, it is a lot of other words in luxury as well, like Soft and Surprisingly Comfortable, and Velvet Feels Lovely.
Also we have made it all ourselves, and so we would rather have it, with all its not-quite-right bits, than the best and most perfectly perfect of bed headboards.
Mark is going to screw some strips of brass to the back of it and then screw them to the wall in the camper van, so it will be beautifully edged in brass. It is going to sit on top of a long aluminium box at the back of the mattress, and Mark will run the warm water heating pipes through it, so that the bed will warm up a bit when we are driving.
It has been the happiest of happy days. We are feeling very pleased with ourselves indeed.
